What else to do on a Bank Holiday weekend..
I've been really poorly. In and out of hospital since last November. All on the mend now, but my crafty mojo just disappeared. I took part in the March craft challenge in aid of Motor Neurones disease and that revived me a little and made me catch up on some WIP's. I finally finished the pesky crochet blanket from Handmade Glamping! Spurred on by these small victories my crafting mojo has been restored, especially as I can't currently get out and about like I normally would. And isn't the weather just awful? So I have started to pour through my stash of Mollie (formerly known as Mollie Makes). I kept all these magazines as they all contain things I will make 'one day'. Well, 'one day' has arrived!
First up is the fabric succulent terrarium.
The original instructions call for green fat quarters of cotton, but I don't have any as I'm not really a green kinda gal, so I used up some felt scraps. I have a whole drawer just for felt scraps! The edges of the leaves are highlighted with a little silvery white paint. Isn't it cute?
This took me Sunday afternoon. Then I started a little amugurumi monster doll. This is not so cute or amusing. I've spent two evenings and an afternoon on this and I still only have a head and two legs. I just couldn't get the legs right!
Totally user error on my part, the first leg was completely wrong as I was trying to watch Equaliser 3 and so I then wasted an afternoon ripping it out and reworking it. Now I have two mostly matching legs. Next step is to join the fiddly legs together and work the body. Wish me luck.
